The Umbrian Garden at Assisi Heights, is run managed by a small team of Franciscan Sisters. Many different vegetables, herbs, and flowers are grown in the Umbrian garden. Most of the vegetables harvested in the garden are taken to the kitchen then prepared and served to the Sisters. They also use compost on the garden that the grounds keepers make from leaves, kitchen waste and grass clippings. The Sisters also have volunteers from the nearby addiction recovery center that they invite over to help them with various tasks in the garden.
