Connecting People and Gardens
Catholic Garden Network (CGN) is a national network connecting, celebrating, and supporting gardens in Catholic settings – such as parishes, schools, ministries, universities, and religious communities – and the people who tend them, alongside home gardeners and everyone who loves gardens across the United States. These include prayer and rosary gardens, pollinator-friendly/native plantings, food-producing gardens, and parish/school green spaces of every size in both urban and rural areas.
Founded in 2024, CGN advances practical stewardship and collaboration, grounded in Catholic Social Teaching and the Works of Mercy. Through our Garden Directory and Community Forum, we invite gardeners and all who are inspired by these spaces to share knowledge, swap resources, and encourage one another. We’re continually growing resources to support and inspire Catholic gardens.

Connecting People and Gardens
We believe in the power of gardens…
- To cultivate a deeper awareness of our relationship with the natural world and our interconnectedness with all of creation.
- To sustain our bodies, inspire our minds, and nourish our spirits.
- To foster friendships, strengthen communities, and bring people together in shared purpose.
- To spark joy and wonder in our lives.
- To create sacred spaces for prayer, meditation, and reflection.
- To provide opportunities to care for one another and our common home.
- To restore and enhance the health of our communities, our environment, and our hearts.
- To serve as living classrooms that teach and inspire future generations.
