The Catholic University of America’s community garden was founded by the Student Government Association’s Environmental Initiative in spring 2021. The garden is run by student, staff, and faculty volunteers and all produce is available to volunteers or harvested for Cardinal Cupboard, Catholic University’s free food pantry. Volunteers grow and harvest several hundred pounds of produce every season, including tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, greens, beans, squash, okra, cucumbers, figs, grapes, and other vegetables and herbs.
